Privacy Policy

Job Agent is a local-first plugin for ChatGPT and Codex. It does not operate a developer-controlled server, require a Job Agent account, collect telemetry, or send career data to the Job Agent developer.

Data handled by Job Agent

Job Agent may work with information that you provide, including resumes, career history, preferences, job listings, company research, application notes, and generated application materials.

Job Agent stores its durable files in the career workspace you select. Private configuration and disposable extraction caches are stored locally under ${JOB_AGENT_HOME:-~/.job-agent}. You control these files and their retention.

OpenAI and third-party services

Your use of ChatGPT or Codex is governed by OpenAI's applicable terms and privacy policies. When you use Job Agent, OpenAI may process the prompts, files, and workspace content needed to respond to your requests.

When you ask Job Agent to verify a listing or research a company, ChatGPT or Codex may access public websites and third-party services. Those services have their own privacy practices. Job Agent does not add a separate developer-controlled data transfer.

Sharing and sale

The Job Agent developer does not receive, sell, rent, or share your career data. Job Agent does not contain advertising or tracking code.

Retention and deletion

Delete files from your career workspace to remove durable Job Agent records. Delete ${JOB_AGENT_HOME:-~/.job-agent} to remove Job Agent's local configuration and caches after you no longer need them. OpenAI may retain product data according to its own policies and your account settings.

Security

Job Agent uses ordinary local files. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, career workspace, backups, and any repository where you store those files. Avoid committing sensitive career data to a public repository.

Changes and questions

Material changes will be published in the project repository. For questions, open a GitHub issue without including resumes or other sensitive personal information.
